Jun. 20th, 2005 01:20 amI spoke with
shrijani on the phone and suddenly she was quite depressed. What can I say? Read with caution.
I had a nice time with my family birthday/Father's Day celebration. It was still weird, but I come to expect that. I got some nice gifts and my dad gave me $100 to blow in Las Vegas. That'll go quickly, but it will be fun.
I gave them a preview performance of my songs that I will be performing at the banquet in Las Vegas on Saturday. I was really nervous, played too fast, and screwed up a bunch. I was hoping that a preview concert would help me be less nervous, but it sucked so badly, I am a bit worried. I couldn't remember the right chords and a string popped out of tune. They didn't know I messed up the words because they were in Spanish. Maybe performing in front of family is more nerve-wracking than performing in front of friends. I blame the lack of alcohol!
I told them that I was nervous and my dad reminded me that I shouldn't be, that while teaching I get up in front of a room full of teenagers every day and "perform." It's true. I do 72 lessons a month on the block schedule.
