Bulbs

My mom bought me 100 bulbs which she gave me on Sunday.  It's called The Glory of Spring Mix.  I looked up each flower.  They will be glorious.  I think I will be very happy to see them peeking up through the soil and possibly through the snow this spring. 

My mom is 70 years old and has been notoriously forgetful.  I can't believe she remembered a conversation we had when I told her I was interested in planting bulbs.  100 bulbs?  Woah!  I don't even really know how to plant bulbs.  Sounds like a lot of hard work.  I think I need a bulb-planting tool.  Yay!  Another trip to the hardware store.  I love going to the hardware store.  It is a true rite of home ownership.

It's true - you spend a great deal of time in the hardware store the first year or two of home ownership. I think our record (the first time I owned a house) was four times in one day.
