Gardening is really hard work!

I planted 5 perennials in my garden today. What a workout! Digging the holes and transplanting the plants, lots of bending over and kneeling. I am sore in places I never get sore. Mostly my hands hurt because I was trying to dig through the Kansas clay with just a little hand shovel. Yesterday I tried out my new trimmer. I am getting quite a tan just from these yard work sessions!
I must say, though, this was my dream that kept me going all through Spring... I am loving every bit of it! I will especially love the part later (maybe even as late as next year) when I get to sit back and enjoy the flowers and fragrances. I have a plant that smells like Juicy Fruit gum! No kidding. It's called Sonoran Sunset Hyssop.
