21st Birthday?
Jan. 11th, 2007 05:41 pmThe school where I work had LJ blocked and I can only get into it in the evenings or weekends, when it seems hardly anyone ever posts! I am working a basketball game tonight and came to the public library to catch up. The Johnson County Public Libraries have nice computers, though the flat panel monitors are a little small. The school also blocks flickr! Why flickr? I can't view my own photo album, and some of the photos might even be of educational benefit since I have my trip to Ecuador and the Galápagos Islands on there. I also could view
ikokujin's photos on there. Geez, he posted a bunch of them the other day but I have not had time to view them until tonight.
Last night I had only one student show up to the aikido class I covered. That was exciting. There is a concert at Aquarius Books in KCMO on Friday that I would like to attend (Celia Farran), but Sensei gets mad when we miss his Friday Advanced class. I also have an offer to help a friend's girlfriend celebrate her 21st birthday on Saturday. (He is 34, she is now 21) The last time I was at a 21st birthday party, I told myself, "Never again." I should learn not to say that! This should be a calm get-together at Free State, but I still don't know if I want to go. The weekend looks like it will be icy and wintry mixed! I WILL use that as an excuse to skip aikido if I have to. It may be enough of an excuse to skip everything. I have books, a computer, dvds, a 4-track recording device. I should be fine. All I need is food!
Ironic that aikido training was keeping me alive, giving me something to look forward to for so long, and now I look for reasons not to go. These days I am not feeling it.
