Denver for the weekend

I haven't posted about this, but I am leaving for Denver tomorrow morning. A bunch of us from aikido are going to a seminar with Shaner Sensei. We have hosted his visit for 10 years, but the Colorado folks asked if they could have him this year. We said OK, so we are going to Denver this time. It should be a fun road trip. Six of us are riding together in 2 cars. We will have fun together and will enjoy seeing our friends in Colorado. The forecast for Denver will be even warmer than here!

Shaner Sensei is a philosophy professor and his teaching is always a renewal, and sometimes a life-changing experience. He reminds me why I do aikido, why I am a teacher, why I am here. Well, he doesn't do those things, but he poses the questions and I have to answer them for myself.

I think Denver is hosting, which is cool, because I have never been to the Denver dojo.
