Charmed and Didn't Even Know It

The spring assembly on my Honda never failed on me or caused an accident. That was reason enough to feel lucky. After waiting in the automobile service department for 2 hours, the mechanic came out and asked me, "Have you noticed your car smells like fuel?" As a matter of fact, I had, but I thought it was because I had driven through some fuely gunk in a mechanic's parking lot I used for a turnaround once.
I had a "massive leak" in my fuel line. I had noticed a drop in fuel economy, but I attributed that to winter driving conditions. I was lucky, he told me, that the car never caught on fire!
He had to order the replacement hose and won't have it until tomorrow. I had no one to drive me home, so they set me up with a rental car. It's a Ford Taurus and it is HUGE, at least compared to a Honda Fit. I don't want to drive it anywhere because it is an oversized gas-guzzler and has the poorest sight lines I have ever experienced inside a car. The seat, however is very comfortable and adjusts in every direction possible. I also enjoyed playing with the satellite radio. Other than that, I can't wait to be rid of this thing and have my own car back.
