I Got It!!

The seller counter-offered and it was better than I was expecting, so I took it.  Woo-hoo!!  I just bought myself a townhouse.  I can't believe how fast this happened.  I went from deciding to buy to signing a contract in about 2 weeks.  Once I set my mind to something, things play out almost by themselves.  All I have to do is make up my mind and head in the right direction.  

I will qualify for the $8000 first-time home buyers tax credit.  That will buy a lot a furniture, which will be necessary since everything I currently own is crap.  Anyone know where I can get some decent furniture at reasonable prices?  I am talking dressers, living room stuff, dining room, fancy media storage.  I also need a new bed and a washer/dryer.  Oh yeah, some patio furniture! 

The place is really cute!  I can't wait to put my own touches on it.

I don't have any leads on furniture bargains, but I'd suggest trolling Craigslist, etc.

For the washer/dryer, Chris gets notifications about the Friends and Family Sales at Sears. Really good discounts on appliances. I'll let you know when the next one is coming up.

Congrats. Is it a tax credit or cash back?

It is a tax credit, but from what I have been told, I can amend my return. Since I already got a refund, I should get a check for the tax credit.
