Last Day of Real Teaching
May. 20th, 2011 11:55 pmToday was the last day of classes before Final Exams begin on Monday. The teacher who shares my classroom and I just paused this afternoon to savor the moment. The students think THEY are looking forward to summer... They just don't know! They are fifteen years old. Their entire life. In fifteen years. I can remember fifteen years ago pretty well. 1996. The internet was really starting to hop. KISS reunited with the original members and toured in makeup again for the first time since the 80's. Yeah, I remember 15 years ago. I was a teacher. I was looking forward to summer just like I am now. I had tickets to that KISS reunion concert at Kemper Arena.
This summer I don't have any big plans except to go to Las Vegas in August for a National Ki Aikido seminar. Work in the yard. Ride my bike. Maybe paint the house. I want to paint the outside, and I have seen some interior painting that has inspired me. I know I will catch up on sleep. I already had a 4-hour nap this afternoon. Then it was evening. So it goes.
