I installed the programmable thermostat today. I won't diminish the accomplishment by saying it was "not that hard." It was pretty straightforward from following the instructions. About as complicated as hooking up a stereo system or putting in a usb card or modem on the computer. I have done all these things. Now I can add installing a programmable thermostat to the list. It has still not kicked on because it is rather warm in the house. I am hanging out in short sleeves at the moment.
There are still no further signs of mouse activity, which leads me to believe I caught the ONE mouse I had and released it into the field.
I did make it to the animal shelter today, but the cute little tortie from the previous post had been adopted. Here are 3 more candidates. All are petite females.

I liked the playfulness and coloring of cat #1 (she's the mackerel mix), the demeanor of cat #2, and the sweetness of cat #3. As I said, these decisions can't be rushed. I will have to go out a few more times, maybe take them into the playroom. There are so many sweet kitties at the shelter. I feel bad about leaving any of them behind, but I can't adopt them all.
