More Weekend, Please!
Sep. 6th, 2010 12:13 pmThree day weekends are just about perfect. They provide enough time for productivity and relaxation. I tackled a giant to-do list yesterday so I would have today to lounge. I bought groceries, scrubbed my bathroom, cleaned the kitchen, mopped the floors, did laundry, mowed the lawn and even used the trimmer. Whew! I still had time to sit and read and shop extensively online for patio furniture and heaters. I still haven't bought anything, but I have a really good idea of what I want. I got my ENTIRE security deposit back from the old apartment complex and even the half-month's rent for pet deposit. I had considered that money to be forfeit. I am just dying to spend it on stuff for my house!
It seems that my new home doesn't get as dirty as the old apartment. Maybe it's because it at least started out clean! Maybe it is merely an illusion because I don't mind taking care of my own property.
I still haven't managed to do my lesson plans for the coming 4-day week. I think it is a form of denial. I don't want this beautiful weekend to end! I also have myself somewhat convinced that I did do some planning before I left school on Friday. I know at least what we will be doing tomorrow and I can pick it up from there. Later. Not now. That's why I am writing about it instead of actually opening my plan book to see what needs to be done.
Today there is a wind advisory. We may have 50-mph gusts! Too windy to have our traditional cookout, probably. George Foreman to the rescue!
