Parent-Teacher Conferences
Sep. 24th, 2009 09:46 pmTonight was the end of Week Six of school this year and we had Parent-Teacher Conferences. I keep hearing about over-involved busybody parents at my new school. As I suspected, I didn't have any problems tonight at conferences. Most of the time, we just see the parents of the kids who are doing well. Do you see the connection? Parents who care about how their kids do at school tend to have kids who care how they do at school!
I survived the evening of talking even though I am having wicked allergy issues. I am suffering from post-nasal drip and congestion that is driving me truly mad. Something bloomed or died this week that is just killing me. I didn't have any problem until this Tuesday. At first I thought I was sick, but now I know better. I almost would rather be sick because then I would have the promise of an end to the symptoms soon enough. With allergies, who knows when they will go away?
Here's the deal. Claritin-doesn't work at all. I am using Sudafed right now but it only barely contains the symptoms, for a while. 12-hour decongestants dry me out and make my scalp tingle. I think they are worse than the malady. What can I take and still survive intact? I am hoping it will only last a week or two. I am fully willing to pop some pills to get me through. It is better than cutting off my head!
