Rainyish day
Mar. 22nd, 2007 05:31 pmThis morning began with thunderstorms, but they let up. The rest of the day stayed humid and overcast. I didn't want to get stuck miles out of town on my bike in storm, so I went running with the dog instead.
tiri_mu is my only friend who will run with me!
I think we have gone 4 times this week, which should add up to 8 miles. I feel really good about myself after having run. I feel good inside my body, which feels fit and healthy.
I bought some new hiking boots (which are pretty expensive) that I am afraid to wear outside until I am sure I want to keep them. I am breaking them in by hiking around my apartment. Now, I just need to get outside and go hiking. That is a part of my image of myself, but I never seem to get around to doing any actual hiking. When I go on safari in Africa or trekking on the Inca Trail in Peru, I will need good hiking boots.
I stayed in and did some actual work today. Grading papers and recording them on the computer is actually not so bad to do at home. I am in my new hiking boots, drinking beer, listening to music and working on seating charts. I am really glad I did not blow this off, since I took more work home than I would care to admit.
Yes, I do seating charts. The kids ask me, "When are we ever going to pick our own seats?" I say "Never!" That usually ends the discussion.
