One of my students made the comment that we were out of school for Milk Day. I said, "Whuh?" He said, "You know, MLK. Milk!" Am I the only one who hadn't heard that or did the kid just make that up? Dr. King was a great leader and a great man. I am not sure how I feel about the Milk acronym. Then again, how should I know how Dr. King would feel about having his own holiday, anyway. We still have a long way to go in this country and I feel that today is the perfect time to remember that.
I have spent my day sleeping in, doing laundry, talking to a friend on the phone for like 2 hours. I had another friend come visit. We drank hot cocoa and talked about classical music.
Tonight will be aikido Kids' Class and possibly seeing a movie. This is like the first movie I have seen in the theater since A Prairie Home Companion. I hope I can make it. I don't see enough movies in the theater.
