Saving Halloween

I have these neighbors who just moved in this Fall. They are an Asian mother and daughter. I think the mom is my age. I never see any men around. The mother and daughter were ringing doorbells in my apartment complex with little success. The daughter had on a witch costume and looked pretty cute, but no one was home or answering the door. We just don't do Trick-or-treating in this neighborhood. I have never had a single Trick-or-treater in the 5 years that I have lived here.

I didn't have any candy, but I suggested to the mom that they go downtown. Mass Street has many businesses that give out candy and there are tons of children in a safe environment. She thanked me and they hopped in the car. I didn't want the girl's Halloween experience to be totally lame and disappointing. I hope they had a good time downtown.

I stopped off at the store and bought some candy. I can always hand out the leftovers to my students. I watched the CBS movie that I recorded, "Vampire Bats" starring Lucy Lawless. I enjoyed it, but didn't get to see the end because the program started late due to a football game. My VCR was only set to record at the time it was supposed to be on.

I still had a nice evening. Guinness and Mini-M&M's. A great combination. (I loves me some Mini-M&M's!) Happy Halloween!
