Nature experience

It is not all "daisies, daffodils, and butterflies kissing beautiful flowers." In fact, Nature can be quite gross at times. I would still rather experience this than breathe smog or never feel the sun on my skin. My bike ride this evening was lovely. The fall colors are gorgeous and the air was cool, yet still. BUT, nature can be gross at times...

First, 2 bugs flew into my eye. I got them out and they were still alive. Ew!

Then, I saw 6 deer feeding together in a herd. (Do deer have herds?) They are more at ease on the bike trail. They looked up and watched me pass, but stayed up on the hill. One of them was taking a dump! I had never seen that before.

Then another bug flew right into my open mouth. Yes, Nature can be beautiful...

It's pretty much an expected occasion, to ingest insects when toodling about on a bicycle or a motorcycle. It's not even that unpleasant of a situation because it's so common. Just extra protein, I guess. Right?

I had a bug fly right up my nose this year out at Faire. Seconds before our group was supposed to have an interaction with the Queen.

That was a good time. Yeah.

Ok, ok... it's a parcel. Happy now?

Except that really, in the modern world, we just say herd.
