Walking tour of the Plaza
The Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri was designed to appear like Seville, Spain. After visiting Sevilla (as the Spaniards call it), I was impressed at what a good job they did with the copying. Think of it as an upscale shopping city where none of us actually shop.
Our class on Tuesday took a walking tour of the Plaza. It was hot and sunny, just like Spain in July! I did all the sweating for you, just click to see some photos.
First stop, a 1/2 size replica of the Giralda tower from the Seville City Cathedral. The original has ramps inside instead of stairs for walking up with horses.

Another nice building.

Did you know that Kansas City has more fountains than Rome?

This boar is a copy of one in Italy. Rub his nose for good luck. (You can tell many already have)

Wait! Still not done with fountains. This little boy is being squirted by a frog. (not what it looks like, I know)

A closer look at the Spanish-style tiles behind the boy and frog fountain.

This is my favorite photo that I took. Whoops! Naked marble. Please don't report me...
